英国D&AD奖 是全球创意与设计界最享有声望的大奖之一，每届对入选作品的品质控制非常严格，每年 D&AD 仅有不到5%左右的作品最终获得提名，而且评委的“一票否决权”使得 D&AD 被认为是全球最挑剔最严苛的奖项。

在奖项设置上，由高到低划分为黑铅笔奖、黄铅笔奖、石墨铅笔奖和木铅笔奖，分别代表最高荣誉、金奖、银奖和铜奖。
